The Subtle Power of Names in Remote Healing
Every Friday, I host a group distance healing event on Facebook Live, drawing participants from the Bengston Energy Healing Method® community and beyond. Participants submit names for healing and then during the session, I read them aloud.
While complete cures are rare, consistent participation can lead to significant improvements. Melinda, for example, experienced a gradual full recovery from advanced cancer after years of involvement in our group. She thinks the regular remote healing with our group was a significant contributor to her being declared “cancer free” by her doctors. Similarly, many people and pets have benefited from the ongoing healing sessions.
But why do I read names aloud? And how can participants connect with this practice?
Let’s explore why names hold such potent energy in healing and how a fleeting intention can transform a simple name into a catalyst of profound transformation.
The Energetic Power of Names
Imagine a name as more than just a label; it’s an energetic signature that carries the essence of an individual. When we speak or write a name with intention, we’re not just calling out to a person’s physical form; we’re reaching out to their entire being—mind, body, and spirit. In energy healing, this connection is vital. Just like a physical address directs mail, a name directs healing potential to the person behind it.
The Role of Intention: More Than Just a Name
While names are the first step in creating an energetic connection, it’s the intention that genuinely powers the process. Without a clear intention, a name is just a word. But when you submit or speak a name with the intention of healing, it becomes something far more—it acts as a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. The actual speaking of a name gives it life. Breath carries life; when you speak a person’s name, you breathe that life into your connection with them. It’s as if the vibration of your voice sends out a signal, lighting up the energetic path between the name and the person, no matter how far away they may be. This practice is rooted in ancient wisdom—there’s a reason many spiritual traditions emphasize the power of speaking words aloud.
In group healing sessions, simply writing a name into the healing container (the list that I read) is like planting a seed in fertile ground. The healer doesn’t need to know the person, their story, or even what they look like. Combined with your intention, the name is enough to summon their connection to their Source.
But here’s where it gets even more interesting—sometimes, when a name isn’t read aloud or isn’t individually focused on, the healing can be more profound. Without the constriction of too much attention or forceful energy, the process can flow more freely, allowing the natural healing forces to do their work without interference. It’s an example of how, in energy healing, letting go can sometimes produce the most powerful results. It’s also an example to relax if you don’t get your name on the list in time to be read out loud. Simply put it in the chat later and my “time travelling” will find it and have the name still act as an address for healing.
Specificity vs. General Healing Intent
In the realm of energy healing, the distinction between directing healing toward a specific person versus offering a general intention for “anyone who needs healing” can significantly impact the process. When we focus on an individual through their name, we tap into their unique energetic signature. This specificity allows for a more intentional connection, enabling healing energy to resonate at a frequency that aligns with the person’s unique needs.
However, it’s crucial to remember that healing does not come from the practitioner; it emerges from within the individual. By naming someone, we create an opportunity for their own inner healing potential to be activated. The practitioner acts as a facilitator, holding space for the individual to connect with their Source of healing. The individual may or may not become conscious of this non-cognitive healing process.
In this context, general healing intentions can often feel like casting a wide net, which may dilute the potency of the healing experience. While it may resonate with some, a personalized approach can foster a deeper connection. By speaking a name aloud, we invoke the person’s identity and innate capacity for transformation. It’s a reminder that healing is a deeply personal journey, one where the individual’s relationship with their Source is paramount.
This personalized focus enhances the healing process, inviting the individual to engage with their own energy and resources. Ultimately, healing is an intimate exchange, and naming someone is a powerful catalyst for this dynamic connection, facilitating the emergence of profound healing from within.
Names as Astral Addresses: Connecting Through an Energetic Signature
Names serve as astral addresses, linking the healer to the individual across time and space. When we invoke a name, we tap into the unique essence of that person, creating a resonant connection that acknowledges their individuality and its inherent resonance with their Source. This isn’t about energy “traveling” in the traditional sense; it emerges from the quantum field, where all existence intertwines.
When spoken or written with intention, a name establishes a focus within the astral dimension, drawing upon the healing information available. This honors the essence of the individual, aligning collective healing forces with them. Here is where the magic happens—through the name, we open a door for healing to occur.
Thus, names become crucial links in the healing process, enabling practitioners to connect more intimately with the layers of the conscious universe. By recognizing this dynamic relationship, we create pathways for healing to emerge organically, guiding individuals on their unique journeys toward wholeness.
The Surprising Potential of Fleeting Intention
In energy healing, the idea of intention is often taken too seriously, suggesting that intense focus is essential for effective healing. However, I invite you to consider a more fluid approach: “fleeting intention.” Instead of gripping tightly to a healing goal, we can infuse a name with intention and then let it go, creating space for the natural flow of energy.
When we speak a name, it’s vital to balance that focus with detachment. This means mindfully saying the name and then moving on—much like a “set it and forget it” mentality. This approach allows healing to unfold organically, without the pressure of lingering thoughts or rigid expectations.
An adept practitioner knows how to navigate this balance. They understand that while intention can spark healing, excessive focus can stifle it. By embracing fleeting intention by saying the name and then letting things be whatever they are, we allow the inherent wisdom of the healee’s body and spirit to guide the healing process.
Rather than viewing intention as a strict directive, think of it as a gentle nudge—one that ignites connection without constriction. This dynamic interplay enables healing to manifest with ease and grace.
The Essence of Healing is an Inside Job
At the heart of energy healing lies a profound truth: the healing process originates from within the healee, not from the practitioner or an external source. As practitioners, we serve as facilitators, creating an environment where healing can emerge and flourish. The true power of healing resides in the connection between the individual and their Source.
When we invoke a name during a healing session, we honor this essential dynamic. The name acts as a bridge, linking the individual to their innate potential for transformation. This relationship is not about the practitioner exerting influence or “sending” energy; rather, it’s about recognizing that healing is an intrinsic process.
Ultimately, healing is not cognitive or linear; it’s a multifaceted experience that transcends intellectual understanding. While wisdom may emerge along the way, it is not a prerequisite for physical healing. Instead, it’s about embracing the unfolding process and trusting in the natural rhythms of healing.
By simply naming our healee, we connect with their essence, catalyzing and supporting their healing.
Submitting Names in Secret
While it may seem harmless to include someone’s name in a healing circle without their explicit consent, there are several ethical reasons why this is not recommended.
- Respecting autonomy: The healee’s self-directed healing is essential. Secretly including names can hinder this process. Individuals may have personal reasons for not wanting to participate, or they may prefer different healing methods.
- Building trust: Obtaining consent demonstrates respect and care. Even if someone declines, they are more likely to trust you in the future.
- Empowering the Healing Process: Respecting autonomy empowers people to take ownership of their healing journey. When someone agrees to participate, they are actively engaging in their own healing process
- It works better. I agree with William Bengston that the placebo effect (what I call “activating one’s natural healing forces”) is not about belief, but a patient’s Self is still part of the picture.
- Animals’ names should not be submitted without permission from their caretakers. Their loving humans are part of this process and it’s important to involve them for all the above reasons.
By prioritizing consent, you create a safe and respectful environment that empowers individuals to heal themselves or their pets on their own terms.
Tapping Into the Quantum Field: Embracing Possibilities
While the term “quantum” is often overused in the New Age movement, it can serve as a useful metaphor for understanding the profound interconnections at play in healing. Within the context of our discussion, we can think of the quantum field as a realm of infinite potential where all possibilities exist simultaneously.
This field is not just about “energy” in the traditional sense; it’s a subtle fabric of consciousness that responds to our thoughts, intentions, and, importantly, the names we invoke. In this space, healing emerges from the healee’s innate connection to their essence rather than from the practitioner imposing their will or directing energy.
By recognizing the fluid nature of this field, we embrace a more holistic approach to healing—emphasizing the importance of intention, awareness, and the role of names in focusing our efforts. When we call upon a name, we don’t just initiate a mechanical process; we engage with the depths of existence, allowing healing to unfold organically and effortlessly.
In this way, names act as keys that unlock the door to possibilities within the quantum realm, facilitating a connection that empowers the individual to explore their own healing journey.
Experiment with different approaches to fully appreciate the power of names in healing. This will enable you to experience the power in a name rather than just think about it or (gasp) believe in it!
Some experiments you can run for yourself:
- Notice the difference: Observe how your experience changes when the name of someone or a pet you care about is read aloud versus absent.
- Try different variations: Experiment with using full names, first names, or repeating the names aloud.
- Explore the impact of submission: Compare the effects of submitting names intentionally yourself versus having our volunteer assist you.
- Connect through the senses: Feel, see, hear, or smell your connection to the person or pet whose name is being read.
Let’s see if your observations will help you will penetrate into they mystery of the energetic power of names and enhance your healing results..
