How to Charge Water  with Energy: The Bengston Method and Other Techniques

Water has long been recognized as a substance capable of holding and transmitting energy. From ancient rituals to modern energy healing methods, practitioners have harnessed water’s unique properties to enhance healing. In this article, we will explore two powerful methods for charging water: a traditional, magical approach and the Bengston Energy Healing Method, incorporating his Image Cycling technique.

Why Charge Water?

Charging water with “healing information” creates a type of “medicine’”that can enhance healing. This process infuses water with energetic qualities that positively affect health and well-being. Charged water can be consumed by the person charging it or given to someone else.

The Theory Behind Energetically Charged Objects

Objects around us, including water, absorb astral energies they are exposed to. This isn’t new—throughout history, certain places, objects, and substances have been revered for their ability to hold and transfer energies. For example:

  • Psychometry: A psychic holding your keys may sense information about you because the keys have absorbed your personal energy.
  • Thrift Store Vibes: Sometimes, you may feel a strong, negative “vibe” from an object, deterring you from buying it.
  • Holy Water: Water blessed by a priest or taken from a sacred spring is believed to carry powerful healing or protective properties.
  • Sacred Sites: Temples and natural formations have a way of holding the intentions of those who visited them over time, creating energetic imprints that can be sensed.
  • Dust:  Linda Thomas, author of Cleaning has Meaning used to work in a hospice as a housekeeper.  She could tell from the appearance of the dust in the room if a patient was going to soon transition through death, even without access to medical records.

Objects like cotton, water, or dust are malleable and can be infused with energies for healing. In fact, you can easily charge water for healing purposes, and we will show you two methods—one based on using healing intention and the other on the Bengston Method.

Science and Energetically Charged Water

Masaru Emoto’s Water Experiments

Masaru Emoto, a Japanese researcher, is well-known for his experiments suggesting that human consciousness and intention can affect the molecular structure of water. In his studies, Emoto exposed water to positive or negative thoughts, words, and music, then froze the water and observed the ice crystals under a microscope. He reported that positive emotions and words (like “love” or “gratitude”) produced beautiful, symmetric crystals, while negative words (like “hate”) led to disordered, asymmetrical formations.

Support and Popularity

Emoto’s work has gained significant attention and support within the spiritual and alternative healing communities. Many people find his experiments compelling and believe they demonstrate the power of human intention and consciousness on physical matter. His findings have inspired various practices and experiments aimed at harnessing positive energy to influence water and other substances.

Criticism and Scientific Scrutiny

However, Emoto’s research has faced substantial criticism from the scientific community. Critics argue that his experiments lack rigorous methodology, proper controls, and repeatability. They point out that his findings have not been consistently validated in peer-reviewed scientific journals, raising questions about the reliability and scientific validity of his work.

Personal Experience

If you don’t know who to believe, consider believing your own experience.

The Rice Experiment.

A simple way to observe how intention can affect matter is by conducting a rice experiment. Here’s how:

  1. Take two identical glass jars and place equal portions of cooked rice in each.  Lightly cover the jars and observe the changes over several days/weeks.
  2. Treat one of the jars of rice with love and kindness.  Say nice things to it daily.
  3. Treat the other jar of rice with rudeness and/or neglect.
  4. Bonus.  Do this with 3 jars of identical cooked rice.  Pick up the third jar and do Bengston’s Image Cycle while holding it for several minutes a day.

See how each jar spoils compared to the others. To keep you on track, take notes on your actions and the impressions you get. Join my Spirit Gate Cancer Support Facebook Group and share your experience!

The Memory of Water Hypothesis

The “memory of water” theory suggests that water can retain a “memory” of substances previously dissolved in it, even after the substances have been diluted to the point where none of their molecules remain. This theory gained some attention in the 1980s when French immunologist Jacques Benveniste published a study in the journal Nature claiming that water could remember substances that had been in contact with it, which was used to explain homeopathy. However, follow-up investigations found the results could not be reliably reproduced.

These scientific follow-ups are so politically charged that I tend to defer to my individual experiences of N=1.There has been placbo double-blind clinical research showing the effectiveness of homeopathy.  The mechanism is what is scrutinized.   Regardless of if the “Memory of Water” hypothesis holds up to scientific scrutiny, I find the concept useful as a metaphor.  The images my imagination generates from metaphors play a part in how I experience energy therapies working.   As an acupuncturist since 1980, I don’t need convincing that energy therapies are powerful.  I like thinking of “water having a memory” as a possible mechanism, as it keeps my mind open to observation and prevents me from actively disbelieving in what I am attempting to objectively explore.

Electromagnetic Fields and Water

There have been some studies on the effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) on water and biological systems, suggesting that water exposed to certain frequencies can influence biological processes. These findings are part of a broader investigation into how electromagnetic fields might interact with biological organisms, but again, this research is is heavily influenced by politics and funding and not fully understood.

My sense is that if politics and financial interests were not involved, the “science” would gain broader acceptance.

Bengston Method and Water

William Bengston’s research primarily focuses on energy healing and its effects on cancerous tumors in mice, demonstrating significant tumor regression through energy healing, including distant healing. While his studies have not directly focused on water, he has explored the potential of storing healing energy in water.

Bengston’s research on water includes several studies:

  • A Double Blind, Placebo Controlled Clinical Trial on Hospitalized Covid Patients Using Informed Water: This study provides evidence for storing healing energy in water and its potential scalability.
  • A Replication of a Clinical Social Experiment of Device-Infused Resonant Water: This study tests the feasibility of transitioning “healing by intention” to a scalable method.
  • A Clinical Social Experiment of Device Infused Resonant Water: A follow-up study conducted in The Netherlands and Dutch-speaking Belgium.
  • Energized Water Study: An initial study reporting the results of using energized water.

These studies suggest that water can be infused with healing energy, potentially offering a scalable method for energy healing.  See https://bengstonresearch.com/publications for full citations.

Holy Water

There is no widely accepted scientific research that verifies the efficacy of holy water for healing. Like other energetically charged substances, holy water’s benefits are primarily based on spiritual, religious, or traditional beliefs rather than empirical evidence. However, people often report positive experiences using holy water for blessings, protection, or healing, which could be attributed to the placebo effect or other psychosomatic responses.

Placebo Effect and Psychosomatic Healing is Not Due to Belief

Many forms of alternative healing, including the use of charged or blessed water, may engage the placebo effect. This occurs when individuals experience real improvements in their health or symptoms, even if the treatment itself has no inherent therapeutic properties. Widely documented, the placebo effect highlights how beliefs, emotions, and intentions can significantly impact health outcomes.

William Bengston challenges the conventional understanding of the placebo effect, particularly the notion that it hinges solely on belief. He argues that the placebo effect is often misinterpreted as being purely psychological, i.e., that a patient’s belief in the treatment’s efficacy causes improvement. However, Bengston suggests that something deeper and more complex may be at play, involving physiological processes that we do not fully understand. In his research, including work with healing mice, some subjects did not exhibit belief in the effectiveness of energy healing, yet they still their mice of cancer.

This led Bengston to hypothesize that belief may not be as central to healing as traditionally thought. Instead, he explores the idea that resonance, or an energetic connection between the healer and the recipient, plays a crucial role.

This challenges the assumption that the mind alone (through belief) is the driving force behind placebo-related improvements, suggesting that healing could be tied to physical, energetic interactions beyond conscious awareness (Lissa Rankin )(Energy Medicine University). Bengston’s critiques open discussions on the placebo effect’s mechanism, pushing for further exploration into how factors like energy and resonance contribute to healing, even in cases where belief is absent or irrelevant. Energetically-charged water may or may not become a healing agent because of one’s belief.

Quantum Biology and Water

Imagine a world where the tiniest particles in the universe influence the very essence of life. Welcome to the fascinating realm of quantum biology! This emerging field explores how quantum phenomena might impact biological systems, including water. Some scientists believe that quantum effects could unlock the secrets behind complex biological processes, such as the efficient energy transfer in photosynthesis or the precise actions of enzymes.

While the idea that water can be charged with specific healing energies through quantum mechanisms is still highly theoretical and unproven, it sparks the imagination. Could the mysteries of quantum physics one day explain how water holds and transmits energy? The possibilities are intriguing and invite us to keep an open mind as science continues to explore these uncharted waters.

Two Methods for Charging Water

Water is not just a physical substance; it can be infused with energy through intention and practice. Below are two distinct approaches to charging water that align with different philosophies of energy healing.

The Intention/Prayerful Method

This method involves an active, intentional process. The steps include:

  1. Holding the Water: Take your glass of water and hold it with your hand encircling the glass. Really feel that the palm of your hand is energetically connected to the glass and the water in it. Avoid aiming your fingertips aggressively at the water. Simply hold the glass securely and prepare to invite the healing energy/information into it.
  2. Baseline Taste: Taste the water to establish a baseline so you can detect any changes later.
  3. Prayer or Visualization: Offer a prayer or blessing, asking for healing properties to be infused into the water. Alternatively, visualize the water filling with positive energy and healing light, opening your heart to sense its response.
  4. Notice the Change: After a minute or so, taste the water again. Many report a subtle difference in taste, texture, or even “vibration” after charging the water.
  5. Additional Techniques: You can enhance this practice with crystals, herbs, or even affirmations. Homeopathy also explores the idea that water can carry information from such energetic inputs. This approach focuses on being fully present and intentional with the water, allowing your energy, your connection to Source, or your prayer to be transferred into it.

The Bengston Energy Healing Method

This method takes a more subtle approach, minimizing direct intention or focus on the water itself.

  1. Taste the Water: As with the magical method, begin by tasting your water before charging.
  2. Hold the Water: Hold the glass as you would in the prayerful method, making sure that your palm is securely touching the glass. Don’t focus on the glass much after you have established a comfortable grip.
  3. Cycling: Perform William Bengston’s Image Cycling technique while holding the glass. The Bengston Method suggests that even a fleeting intention to charge the water is enough.
  4. Distraction: This method is not about actively sending healing light or energy into the water. Instead, it is a passive process where the water absorbs the healing frequencies generated by the cycling. Here’s the key difference: You don’t focus on the water. Unlike the magical or prayerful methods, the Bengston Method encourages you to be present in the moment without actively charging the water. Simply hold the glass, cycle, and engage in your surroundings. Let the healing energy do the work while you remain detached.
  5. Notice the Change. After a few minutes of cycling taste the water and see if it has changed. You could also cycle while holding the water until the taste changes as an indication that it is complete.

While the Intention/Prayerful method relies on deliberate intention, the Bengston Method leverages a detached, almost effortless process that allows the healing information to infuse the water without direct focus.

Which Method is Right for You?

Both methods work, but they operate in different ways. The magical method relies on intention and visualization, actively filling the water with healing energy. The Bengston Method, however, takes a more detached approach—letting the healing energy passively flow into the water without direct focus or intention. As you become more experienced, you may find yourself gravitating toward one method over the other, or perhaps alternating between both depending on the situation. With experience, you will know when to use each method to maximize results.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the choice to energetically charge water—whether through the deliberate focus of the Magical Method or the subtle power of the Bengston Method—could be far more transformative than it appears on the surface. Water is not just a passive element in these processes; it becomes a conduit for healing and a reflection of your intention or energy cycling practice. Think about the impact: if water, the most abundant and life-sustaining substance on Earth, can carry and transmit healing energy, what else might you be able to influence in your daily life using these same principles?

By experimenting with both techniques, you might begin to experience shifts not only in your health but also in your relationship to the energies around you. Imagine drinking water infused with the same life force that powers healing in more advanced energy practices like the Bengston Method. You are engaging with a deeper layer of reality, one where your intentions or your energetic cycling can directly influence the physical world. This is an opportunity to be more than a passive recipient of healing—it’s an invitation to actively shape your well-being with every sip.

As you try these methods, be open to the possibilities that this charged water could have on your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. You might find that this simple practice has the power to amplify not just healing, but your awareness of how energy flows through all things.
